Painting in the Park
Sunday 29th August
10.30 - 1pm
This is an introduction to landscapes in chalk pastels, using Allestree Park for inspiration. It is designed both for adult beginners or more experienced artists.
Leaders: Bill Grange and Steve Plant.
Materials will be provided, but it will be helpful if you can bring a clipboard of at least A3 size, an easel if you have one (not essential) and a folding chair or stool. Numbers are limited to 20, so please phone Bill Grange on 01332 551403 or email

Ring-barking of standing trees and cutting back sycamore growth at newly planted site north end of Big Wood – working with Derbyshire Conservation Volunteers
Meet 10am at Woodlands Lane Car Park. Bring Lunch and refreshments. Tools are provided, but please bring loppers, a bow saw and heavy duty gardening gloves if you have them.

Path-lining in Big Wood – continuation of the work to line some of the major paths through the wood with logs – working with Derbyshire Conservation Volunteers.
