Allestree Local Study Group
The Allestree Local Study Group is interested in the history and development of Allestree and surrounding area. It has a particular interest in the future of Allestree Hall and Park. The group has a considerable amount of archive material including maps of Allestree. For general details please phone Terry on 558256 or Matthew on 842114. The Group meets on Wednesdays, every two weeks, at 7pm during the autumn, winter and early spring for talks and demonstrations. Meetings are held in the Choir Vestry, St Nicholas Church, Allestree. The programme is displayed at a number of sites including shops and Allestree Library. Visitors are welcome at these meetings (payment £2) but we encourage people to join the group (annual membership is £10). In the period April until June there are visits to places of interest, normally every fortnight on Wednesday evenings. Places are often limited on these visits and it is essential the people book with Rosemary on 559948 or Terry on 558256.
