Friends of Allestree Park - Bulletin June 2026
FOAP publishes a bulletin following each meeting of the committee to give our members, and others, a better view of what’s happening on and to the park. This bulletin follows the meeting on 22nd June
DCC update (Sandra Horner)
Various volunteering sessions have been run across the site, including
- planting at the new dipping pond
- path creation from the car park to the recreation field
- balsam bashing (lots of)
There have been a few small (and a few large) fallen trees over the last month. I believe this is due to the extreme changes in the weather including the early hot spell. Please keep reporting these to me, especially if they are over paths.
Dens built in wood are increasing and are likely to do so over the summer. The PPO team are aware of potential for additional antisocial behaviour and have been asked for additional visits.
Please report any litter, fly tipping or fires to me.
Rangers will join me by the end of summer to dismantle any that are left.
This year’s Superhero picnic will be on 28th July 11am - 3pm.
