5. Q&A
The final item was a Q&A session:
Q With the introduction of additional benches will there be more rubbish bins?
A Yes, and they will be ’smart’ bins which will send a message to the operations team to empty them. Some current bins have already been retro-fitted to be ’smart’.
Q Will there be accommodation of wheelchairs?
A Yes, at level sites.
Q One member expressed anxiety that DWT funding for this project will end in 2027.
A Derby City Council and Derbyshire Wildlife Trust will try to find continuing funding.
Q Why is the seasonal pond where it is - it sometimes looks a mess and overflows the path in some heavy rain events.
A It has formed naturally as a consequence of the golf course drainage system no longer being functional. Derby Parks has plans to reduce the frequency of the overflows. The occasional muddy appearance is natural.
Q What has happened to the information board which used to stand on a stone plinth near to the hall?
A Derby Parks has the board in safe keeping. It will be re-installed outside of the Hall’s curtilage, which we shall know when the sale of the hall is complete.
